Motorists can expect occasional traffic delays along Caribou Road between Highway 70 and Belden Reservoir while PG&E installs new power lines in Plumas County.
The project will upgrade a 60,000-volt transmission line, which will improve reliability.
From July 31 to about Aug. 14, PG&E crews will work Monday to Saturday, from 8 a.m. to about 4 p.m. daily. Due to PG&E trucks working on the narrow Caribou Road, at times motorists can expect traffic delays of up to 30 minutes during work hours.
PG&E will post signs at Caribou Road and Highway 70, and at Butte Valley Reservoir and Caribou Road advising of possible traffic delays. Flaggers will be working to control traffic.
PG&E is restringing new power lines for the transmission line that runs from the Caribou Powerhouse to near Quincy. PG&E has replaced wooden poles with 182 heavy-duty steel poles and is installing seven miles of new line to increase capacity and improve reliability.
